Author Interview with Reuben Yarde of Self Discipline: Build Momentum To Succeed, Disciplining The Mind And Body

How productive are you every single day? Take a few moments and honestly think about the answer to that question. If you have a lot of tasks to do, but only accomplish half of them, then you’re not as productive as you honestly could be.

Reuben, let’s take a whirlwind approach to our chat today and kick off our discussions by finding out what you learnt by writing this book. What was important to you?

Learning how to apply myself to get a task done.

Were you energised by the challenge of rising to this at times intimiating task?

Yes, I was energized.

High energy is always such a fun place to write at. One way I love to extend a little energy is by exploring some unexpected answers to intriguing questions. Let’s see if we can get some more energy in flow with the answer tow why is a square meal served on round plates? What do you think Ruben?

For style.

And with that style, what do you think Batman would do if he gets bitten by a vampire?

He becomes a villian.

All in all, that’s probably not the worst choice for him. I’d love to see what it would be like in action. One of the greatest things you can do as a writer is to call someone to action. Looking back, what do you think your most important idea or call to action might be for your readers to understand?

The importance of self discipline

Did you use events from your own life to share the importance of thsi topic?

Yes, but I didn’t go into detail.

Are you thinking of someone or something in particular when you write that higher view work?

My mom.

Mums are awesome cheerleaders! While it’s great to write for your mum, it’s also great to share your work with the wider world. What steps ahve you taken so far building your author brand?

Yeah, I’m in the process of creating my brand hence why I’m advertising here.

How has your brand creation gone so far?

Slowly but surely.

Well, it’s important to start somewhere, and I’m sure that it will build with each additional book. Can you tell us a little bit about some of the new books in the works that will be coming up to continue building on your brand?

A fitness book and also a romance novel.

Interesting combination. At first glance, they look a little unrelated, but on second thoughts I think they’ll both you moved your writing world forward. We’ve just about run out of time here so we’ll have to wrap out chat up today, but can you help readers who are already loving your work get a little taste of what they can find in this book? What’s the best line from it?

“The greatest amount of time wasted is the time not getting started” – Dawson Trotman
