It is naive to believe shadow government does not exist. But, when asked, the intelligence services will tell you there is no such thing as the deep state.

FACT: In 1996, Gary Webb, an investigative reporter with a credibility problem, presented evidence the CIA was helping the Sinaloa Cartel smuggle cocaine into southern California. His accusations gained traction until, in 2004, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head… twice – or so the coroner ruled.

FICTION: (or not?) In 2016, Alex Katsaros was doing research on drug use in America for her boss, Senator Gavin Manson, when she accidentally uncovered a covert CIA plot to smuggle heroin into the U.S. from Afghanistan. Webb’s “suicide” immediately leaped to the forefront of her thoughts. The Company does not take kindly to being outed… as Gary had so tragically discovered.

Now that she and Gavin know too much, the CIA has no intention of letting them live. On the run, Gavin and Alex must stay one step ahead of their pursuers or two-bullet suicides could be their fates, as well.

This fast-paced thriller is a seamless blend of fact and fiction that will keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing until the very end!
