Victoria: A Tale of Spain

| August 18, 2019

cover

It’s the early 1600s and Duke Carlos’ daughters live a quiet existence in a castle in rural Spain, a bit of a distance from young King Felipe’s imposing fortress of El Escorial. Nothing much happens among the Duke’s many daughters, except they make too much noise and long for adventures they’ll never get. But when the oldest sister, Bella, turns out to have a mysterious acquaintance with a tough-looking bandit, she disappears on just exactly the sort of adventure that isn’t supposed to happen at the Alcazar. The Duke and Duchess don’t believe in their daughters running all over the countryside or meeting the King in person. But that’s just what Victoria ends up doing too. She and Bella are related, after all.
