Apron Strings

Hester Dumphry lives a charmed life until fate cruelly intervenes and rips her world to shreds. Her apparent savior, Beatrice, in the form of a bible thumping spinster, fuels Hester’s fear until her bitterness and secrets are all she has left. But many in Creekwood have secrets, including Beatrice, buried so deep, they no longer believe them and will stop at nothing to keep their own pasts concealed. Hester’s tenant, an apparent drifter with a past riddled in alcoholism is embroiled in a mystery he isn’t even aware of. Then he does the unthinkable and makes a sacrifice for two strangers that very few would ever consider. Apron Strings twists and weaves throughout with an ending that begs the question – Does everything truly happen for a reason?

Best book I have read this year! I really wanted to keep reading. I’m usually a really slow reader and it takes me forever to finish a book but I finished this book in two evenings because I didn’t want to stop reading. I wanted to know what happened next…

I could not put this book down. The characters continued to evolve throughout the book. I kept wondering what was going to happen next, what I would learn about the characters in the next chapter. The book kept me guessing, I did not expect the ending – I loved it…

I completely agree with all the other reviews – part of the fun of this book was trying to connect all the relationships and once you got once clue about someone you read about 2 chapters back, you found yourself reading further and further ahead to figure it all out.

The ending literally made a small gasp escape my mouth….

I don’t get as much time to read as I would like to but I sure made time for Apron Strings! Once you start it you don’t want to put it down. Just like the others said, it was an adventure trying to figure out how all these seemingly unrelated characters were all intermingled in the rich plot of intrigue, murder and mayhem. I will be adding C.S. Colerain to my list of favorite authors….

I thoroughly enjoyed this read! I started with the sample and had to purchase the whole book, the story caught my interest. As it unwound, the story moved faster and faster as all the dots were connected and the characters lives intertwined. This is the style of writing I look for….

The people from this small town, Creekwood, will be on your mind often if you read this book!! Great read, I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next and figure out how everyone was connected!! What a great mysterious, twisty plot, it was one of the best reads in a while!
