This is China – Misadventures in the Middle Kingdom Part 1: The North

Since leaving his job in the UK, journalist Alex Coverdale has spent over a decade working as an English teacher in China. During that time he has travelled the length and breadth of the country, seeing things he never thought he would see and doing things he never thought he would do, from digging for dinosaur eggs in the Gobi desert to eating snakes in Hunan Province, along the way finding himself in a series of awkward, often hilarious situations. This is his story.

Meet Alex Coverdale

Alex Coverdale is a London-based journalist, editor and dark fiction writer. When he writes about Asia he uses a pseudonym, rather than his real name, to protect the guilty as well as the innocent. And also because he doesn’t want his friends and family to know what he really gets up to when he travels.
