My Life: Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog

Let me be clear, I am an Italian greyhound, and the events of my memoir, both beautiful and devastating, are all true–the beauty of my early years growing up surrounded by the great art of Venice, the excitement of seeking success as an artist in the City of York they call New, the torment of being duped and held prisoner in a Brooklyn basement, the exhilaration of freedom and the ongoing struggle to make art in a world that so often hostile and indifferent.
If you too are an artist, facing your own struggle to survive and create, I hope the tale told here in My Life, Portrait of the Artist as a Young will give you the courage to persevere and become your true self, regardless of your species.
