When They Were Eagles

1940. High above the fields of Kent the Luftwaffe was confident they could defeat the Royal Air Force. The Nazis had rolled over France and the Low Countries with a ferocity and aggression never seen before; now Hitler was lining up Russia, but first he had to defeat Britain. Standing between the Luftwaffe and total victory stood the few young men of Fighter Command. They lived, and loved, those days to the full. This is the story of one young man’s battle and its consequences down the generations.
