At what cost victory?

Milo Volkohne, orphan, criminal, conscript, and unwilling warlock could tell you but you might not like the answer.

It is 1936 and the Great War still rages on, with no armistice in 1918 when the Russian Empire crumbled in the fire and blood of stillborn revolution.

The hellish no man’s land has spread like a blight over Europe as grim, unyielding leaders promise a resolve of iron and no mercy, no peace, no hope.

It would take a miracle to save humanity, but as Milo would tell you: be careful what you wish for.

Plunging into a world of sorcery, treachery, and madness the world’s first wizard will bargain with monsters, human or otherwise, fight for his life, and dare to hope that he’s selling his soul for something worthwhile.

But is any price too high to end the War to end all Wars?

War of Destiny Book 1: Lost Soul

Julia is the daughter of a wealthy family living in 16th-century London. She falls in love with Adam, a servant’s son, and is heartbroken when her family forces her into an arranged marriage. Her husband is neither kind nor merciful, and Julia struggles to keep safe those she cares about. When tragedy strikes, a stranger arrives and offers her a deal that could forever alter her destiny. Agreement would give her what she has been denied and grant her fondest wishes: the freedom to do as she pleases and a reunion with her one true love. There’s only one catch. Accepting would also mean joining the Vampire Resistance to fight the King.

Meet Theresa Van Spankeren

Theresa Van Spankeren lives in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She got her bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College, in Elmhurst Illinois. She still hasn’t figured out if the degree was worth it. She graduated right before the Great Recession and has found temporary work which included ghost-writing self help articles for online sites and has spent the last several years grading standardized tests.

She has been writing since an early age and wrote the first draft of this book back in high school. After several unsuccessful attempts at publishing through major publishing houses, she seized the opportunity to bring her story to the public through self-publishing. The writers who have had a large influence and inspiration include Christopher Pike, Karen Robards, L.J. Smith, and Stephen King. She was also inspired by “The X-Files”, “Witch Hunter Robin” and “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer”.

When she isn’t writing she enjoys hiking and swimming, and also loves checking out local haunted places.

The Awakening

It is written that once long ago, God became very angry with the inhabitants of this world. In his wrath, God sent a great flood to wash away the wicked people of this world. Or so the story tells us.

But is this what really happened?

Meet ryan sova

I have had a fascination with writing from a very young age. I never pursued this passion though until recent years. In March of 2015, I began work on my first novel, The Awakening.

After I had finished writing the first few chapters of this novel, I started sharing some of my work with family, friends, and colleagues from work. Not knowing what people would think of my work, I braced myself for the worst. To my surprise though, people actually loved what I had written. So I got serious about writing and now after almost four years of work, I have finally finished my first novel.

I am currently serving as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force. I am happily married to a woman by the name of Ashleigh Easter-Sova and I have four children from a previous marriage. My wife and I are both active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
