Gloom: A light in the Darkness

cover

Hi, I’m Gloom. I don’t always see things the way other people do. My world is a little different. It’s dark sometimes, sometimes it’s light, and sometimes… it’s just strange. If you’re interested, I’m willing to take you along on a journey to see the world through my eyes. This is just the very beginning of our time together but I think this is the only way to start… in the darkness.

I wrote and illustrated Gloom based on my personal life experiences. It tackles hard subjects and calmly displays them with both words and illustrations. This can encourage younger kids to talk about their problems. It is a graphic novel that deals with depression, loss, and anxiety. It is suitable for ages 5-years-old to adults.

Silent Retribution Man

cover

“Instead of Due Process, I give the Process that is Due”

Lionel Seaver has had it with the indecent, arrogant, rude, mean-spirited and for lack of more negative adjectives, pricks in today’s society. Its about time these people get what’s coming to them. And its not just about people who break the law either. It is not always against the law to be a prick, on the contrary, it is often rewarded. The jerks, bullies and greedy don’t go to jail. They use their power and possession to abuse people. Decency and kindness are often viewed a sign of weakness, a trait that can be taken advantage of . Where conscience and law fail to direct people to do the “right” thing, Seaver decides to step in and secretly and violently set them on a different course.

Seaver lost his family, job and identity in society. He embarks on a course to nevertheless create what he deems is a positive existence for himself as Silent Retribution Man. He accomplishes this by systematically stalking and beating people up who do anything from being rude to waiters, to scamming people out of money, to sexually harassing subordinates, to molesting children. Nothing too big or small, whoever has it coming is going to get it.

Lester Burnham in American Beauty was “an ordinary guy with nothing to lose,” Tyler Durden in Fight Club, once he lost “everything was free to do anything,” Seaver is all of the above, and wants to become the guy in the conclusion of the news story that beat the jerk up because he had it coming. The journey is long and Seaver is forced to confront his own conscience, sanity, and ultimately his mortality.

Nature of Depression: How to Understand and Cure the Symptoms

cover

Are you depressed or are you suffering from depression?

Everyone feels low sometimes. However, that’s not the same as suffering from depression. Unlike normal sadness, clinical depression lasts for weeks, months, or even years. If your life has permanently changed and you feel like you have lost yourself somewhere along the way, it may be depression. Depression is a real illness. It has to be treated correctly.

Before diagnosing depression, it’s important to rule out any other possible reasons for these symptoms. Some physical illnesses create a similar picture: thyroid problems, brain tumors, Parkinson’s disease, and more. That’s why your doctor will want to check your physical health first. Once you are diagnosed with depression, the treatment can begin.

Although things may seem utterly bleak to you, you should know that you’re not alone. Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses in the world. Fortunately, it’s also one of the most treatable conditions. There is hope, healing is possible, and you don’t have to live with depression forever.

In this depression workbook for adults, we’ll define several types of depression such as major depression, persistent depressive disorder, psychotic depression, postpartum depression, seasonal affective disorder, and bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is not actually a form of depression, but it’s included here because a person who suffers from it alternates between episodes of mania, extremely high moods, and depression.

You will discover:

  • Who suffers from depression
  • Why depression happens
  • How depression affects your life
  • What depression feels like
  • What treatments for depression exist—including psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Methods of self-help for depression
  • How to never become depressed: prevention
  • And much more!

Don’t isolate yourself and suffer in silence. Reach out for help because healing is possible. You don’t have to live in a cage of pain for the rest of your life. You can get your life back. And this book is here to help you. The world is a magical place, you just lost sight of it. What you need is to remind yourself of this and not give up.

Adulting 101: How to Get Your Sh*t Straight so You Can Succeed

cover

A self-help book for those who wouldn’t read a self-help book. This book goes down the back alleys of self-help that most writers tend to avoid and makes you confront the scary monsters that live there. With in-your-face writing that verbally slaps you around a bit, Adulting 101 pulls no punches, makes no apologies and completely expects you to get your sh*t straight after reading it.

This isn’t the kind of book you can pretend to read because you want to feel good about other people seeing you holding it. F that. Adulting 101 expects you to do the work. Adulting 101 expects that you’ll think about all the screw ups and have an a-ha moment of “So that’s where I f***ed this up” and then fix it. It is not enough to know you f***ed up, you have to know why and then fix it. Adulting 101 will show you how. All the profanity you grew to love from How Not to be an Asshole is back in full force with very few asterisks to make the language more palatable. Using anecdotes from the author’s life to illustrate the lessons, Adulting 101 will be the go-to guide to determine beforehand if you are f***ing it up. Use now as a handbook for fixing the problems then in the future as a reference guide to keep from making the same stupid mistakes again and again.

This is a powerful book, not for the faint of heart, but for anyone who keeps wondering why their life sucks so much and has an earnest desire to change it for the better. Success is not guaranteed after reading this book but it could help make the path more visible. Adulting 101 could help lift the fog of your ignorance and stupidity and shine a bright light on the way to something better.

Note from the Author: Adulting 101 offers support and acknowledgement of the trials and tribulations of everyday life in America but it also expects that you really want to do something about your depression, anxiety, negative self-talk, procrastination. This book is a basic primer on how the Law of Attraction works. You are already using the Law of Attraction if your life sucks. Adulting 101 will give you the basics of where the errors are happening if you keep attracting bad stuff into your life. Sometimes our parents don’t teach us all we need to know. Sometimes it takes years to learn these lessons, like it did for me. My hope is that you will read this and hear me when I say that I don’t want you to suffer like I did. I spent many years wondering why nothing was going right, why I kept ending up in the same spots even when I tried something that I thought was new, how deep seated experiences and beliefs shaped how I viewed my life. How even your random thoughts that you think don’t matter, REALLY matter! I wrote this book to help. I am currently redoing this book in a less profane way for those that want the message without all the nasty language. I know that is not everyone’s cup of tea. I hope you enjoy the message and if you like it, share it.
