“Hang on and let Shadow Investigation immerse you in Florida’s crime scene-boats, drugs, and money…with some romance on the side. A 5-star, page-flipping, helluva read!” –Cam Torrens, author of Stable: Someone is Taking Them…
It’s 1987–a dangerous period during America’s War on Drugs, but DEA Special Agent Sam Dahl is comfortable- perhaps even a little bored–with his job seizing drug money from couriers passing through the daily hubbub of the LAX airport.
A friend begs Sam to find out what happened to her parents who disappeared while boating in the Gulf of Mexico. Although Sam possesses well-honed instincts and a keen eye for trouble, he knows nothing about missing-person cases. Eventually, Sam agrees to help and under the guise of taking a long overdue “vacation,” he jumps on a flight to the Sunshine State. Soon, his real job and the personal favor to his friend meld into a single investigation. But Sam gets more than he bargained for when he falls for a beautiful woman, then battles a drug kingpin intent on destroying him. And, if Sam isn’t careful, he could lose his livelihood and his life.
Christopher Amato, who spent a career as a federal agent, has written a fast-paced, high-stakes thriller that will be irresistible to readers, but will also stand up to the critical and discerning eye of law enforcement professionals.
Meet Christopher Amato
Christopher Amato worked in federal law enforcement for nearly thirty years even though it was nothing like he remembered from television when he was a kid. He wrote his first novel, A Letter from Sicily, a family saga inspired by his grandfather who was born in Sicily but relocated to the United States when he was a young child. He drew on his law enforcement background to write his second book—Shadow Investigation—a thriller set in the year 1987. Christopher and his wife, both avid travelers, have trouble calling any one place home. Someday they hope to grow and settle down. You can check out his website at christopheramato.org

Meet Luisa Marietta Gold
Luisa Marietta Gold spent much of her adult life in Pennsylvania working for a large corporation. After her daughter was born, she relocated to North Carolina and began working as a Realtor while operating a recreational business with her husband. Her current home is near a lake reminiscent of the Rideau Lakes, which provided the setting for The Osprey Cove Lodge Series. The series was born from her love of that region of Canada, the outdoors, and lake life. Many years were spent enjoying the Rideau, staying in lodges, and for a time, her own cottage. Among her interests are swimming, painting, cooking, baking, and of course, writing and storytelling. But it’s the simple things of life that bring the most enjoyment, like the beauty of the trees outside the window of her writing room as they change with the seasons, watching the sunrise and sunset, and being entertained by her kitties as they interact and play. Many of these interests and life experiences are woven into the pages of her books.
