Finally, with the opportunity to meet the man that killed his grandfather, David takes the opportunity to end that life.

Meet Stephen W Briggs

Stephen W. Briggs is the author of Family of Killers—Memoirs of an Assassin and Lies Lead to Death, part of the Family of Killers series. For his third book, Stephen took a break from the Family of Killers series and wrote a supernatural mystery, Beside Us. His only addiction is cycling, something he does regularly. He has been told that he owns too many bikes. That is a matter of opinion, mainly his family’s. The longer the ride, the better for Stephen. He uses the time on his bike to create new story lines, develop characters or just let his mind wander as he challenges his best times on segments in the area.

There’s More Bodies Out There: the true story of a Mafia associate and a police officer who emerge as suspected serial killers

Richard Henkel claims he murdered twenty-eight people. The author, a former police chief, wanted details. So, he asked.

In our ten months of communication, Henkel was usually candid, but when it came to his associates, especially ex-police officer Gary Small, he was tight-lipped. And when I occasionally pushed too hard, he became angry. However, Henkel said he did not lie once to me.”

Homicide Detective Bob Payne remembered Richard Henkel pausing to look out over a wooded area and saying, “There’s more bodies out there.”

This book is the true story of one of the country’s most dangerous con artists, his police officer partner, the men and women who fell victim to his venom, and the lawmen who persevered to serve justice.

Author Rick Porrello writes books that attract interest from filmmakers. Hollywood snapped up To Kill the Irishman—the War that Crippled the Mafia before it was even published and adapted it for Kill the Irishman, starring Ray Stevenson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Christopher Walken, and Val Kilmer and now showing on Netflix. A motion picture based on Superthief—A Master Burglar, the Mafia, and the Biggest Bank Burglary in U.S. History is in development.

Midwest Book Review: “…a methodical drama emerges that is even more riveting than fiction for its factual yet emotionally alluring presentation.” D. Donovan.Readers’ Favorite Reviews: …Porrello has carved a noteworthy niche as a true crime author with his previous work and his investigative skills honed in law enforcement serve him well with each subsequent book. He provides the gritty and grim details surrounding the various crimes Henkel and his associates would participate in during the 1960s and 1970s. Henkel is shown to be a ruthless criminal with little to no remorse for the mayhem he caused. Porrello doesn’t attempt to humanize his subject but does provide a voice for the victims caught up in a madman’s web. A captivating true crime biography that may cause more than a few readers to lose sleep.” Philip Zozzaro

Meet Rick Porrello

Author, drummer, and former police chief Rick Porrello has a knack for writing books that attract interest from filmmakers. Hollywood snapped up To Kill the Irishman—the War that Crippled the Mafia before it was even published, and turned it into the movie Kill the Irishman, starring Ray Stevenson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Christopher Walken, and Val Kilmer. A motion picture based on Superthief—A Master Burglar, the Mafia, and the Biggest Bank Burglary in U.S. History is in development. Both books have also generated documentaries.

Rick’s first career was as a jazz drummer. At the age of 18, he got his first big break when he started touring internationally with Sammy Davis, Jr. Despite a skyrocketing music career, Rick decided to trade his sticks for a badge, which had been his dream since childhood. What followed was a 33-year career as a police officer in Greater Cleveland, with the last ten of those years as chief of police.

As an organized crime historian, Rick Porrello’s perspective is an intriguing one. He began writing his first book during family research into the murders of his grandfather and three uncles, all of whom, he learned, were mob leaders killed in Prohibition-era violence. The Rise and Fall of the Cleveland Mafia quickly became a regional favorite and has endured as a backlist title.

When he isn’t hammering out his next book, co-authoring a screenplay, serving as a consulting or executive producer, or drumming with a number of bands, Porrello gives presentations on his books and on his writing and publishing journey.

COLD LICK

In the dead of night, an Atlanta neighborhood erupts in sudden violence and introduces a new case file for Sergeant Malcolm Hobbs and his elite X-Men Homicide Squad. This investigation exposes evidence that takes on an extremely personal note for the X-Men when the identity of the victims are Harold Castle and Lamont Hendricks, tough but respected members of the Atlanta Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit or NEU. Meantime, Fabrice Mousassi is an ex-con in town with a few days to kill some crooks. With no honor among these thieves, he needs to settle the score and right the wrong done to him and his partner-in-crime, Julianna Delacroix. They don’t want the entire $25 million; they didn’t earn that. They only want the share that they did earn. No one will stop them from getting what’s theirs. Not their former colleagues, not the police and not anyone else who dares to challenge the Mousassi-Delacroix team. No one. The head-on collision between the unstoppable forces of Team Mousassi-Delacroix and the immovable objects of the X-Men Homicide Squad is inevitable and something has to give. The intensity of these entities and the connections they reveal with the seedy sides of Atlanta’s criminal underworld spurs the pursuit for revenge and its multi-million-dollar payday on one side and justice to solve the crimes in the swiftest manner possible on the other. However for Hobbs in particular, this maze reignites still healing wounds from his painful past that may finally explode and eventually lead to his professional and personal disintegration.

Sons of Brutality

A SATANIC SNUFF CLUB
A RUTHLESS VIGILANTE
AN INTRICATE WEB OF DECEPTION
WHO CAN YOU TRUST?

Los Angeles is a city under siege.

When Detective Addison Mowbray begins investigating the murders of two young women in the Hollywood Hills, he can’t imagine where the case will lead. He suspects the crimes were inspired by an occult fascination, due to some missing body parts and the inverted Christian cross branded on the victims’ breasts. But apart from Addison’s temperamental partner, Jed, the only other person keen on them pursuing that line of investigation is Lilly Coniglio, a medical examiner from the Coroner’s Department. The LAPD is already under immense public pressure due to all the bad press another killer – a vigilante – has brought to their door: it’s been over a year since the first organized-crime figure showed up full of holes, with a plastic police badge beside his body.

As Addison and Jed navigate a murky, disturbing occult landscape in search of answers, they uncover something even more terrifying than a killer hiding in the shadows: an organization so vile and powerful that it changes their lives forever. These two troubled detectives are all that stand between this organization and a spectacular season of carnage.

Set against a backdrop of urban bleakness and social inequality, ‘Sons of Brutality’ combines deeply flawed protagonists with human monsters, integrating strong dialogue, violent action and gripping suspense.
