Generation LOST: Learning, Leveraging and Living Lessons for a Successful Life

What if life came with an instruction manual?

Generation LOST – Learning, Leveraging and Living Lessons for a Successful Life examines who we were, are, and can be, how we got here and where we’re headed.

From September 11, 2001 to our battle against a pandemic in 2021, it has been a time unlike any before. Anyone who was alive or born during that period is now a member of what is being called the “Lost” generation. We have lost lives, countless businesses, hope, faith, trust, security, education, precious moments and more.

Award-winning author, Lisa Luciano, takes a brutally honest look at what we’ve experienced as individuals as well as a nation and what we must do to find our way forward. She offers her unique perspective as a teacher who over the course of 40 years observed generations of students and parents who have abandoned the values that shaped a society and built a country that was the envy of the world.

With facts, stories, advice, tips and resources the book also examines how we have changed as human beings and why we must rediscover and pass on to our children the principles that represent the best in us.

She takes aim at:

  • Education and parenting in America
  • Addiction, obsession and abuse
  • Lost principles we must regain: commitment, trust, forgiveness, self-control, communication, motivation, truth, free speech, faith, respect, balance, honesty, joy and perseverance
  • Destructive emotions that threaten our daily lives: disappointment, frustration, anger, rejection, jealousy, denial, entitlement, apathy, hatred, intolerance and senseless violence
  • The cancel culture media wars
  • The importance of history and personal heritage

… and more

Her experience as an acclaimed investigative journalist offers a take-no-prisoners approach to what has to change and how we can get there.

If you find yourself looking for hope and a positive direction, Generation LOST is the right book at the right time.

And your time to heal, change and grow is now!

There Must Be A Better Way

We live in a world full of noise. We are told to succeed. We ask ourselves if we are a success. Day and night we are bombarded with something outside of ourselves to buy or attain so that we can succeed.

Most of the time, we think that our lives are too complex, too difficult, and too unique to become better by “small” changes. You hold in your hands the story of one man’s journey as he discovers through everyday experiences that this belief is just not true.

Jim doesn’t offer magic bullets or secret formulas for success because there isn’t any. Truth be told, success—your personal success—is revealed to you by focusing on the “small” internal changes you can authentically make every single day.

The Better Way we are all searching for is within each of us. It’s not reserved for a special few, and it doesn’t require sacrifice. The Better Way only requires you to constantly choose it, because it has already chosen you.

The First Mile is the Hardest: 7 Life Lessons Taught by the Trail

The First Mile is the Hardest: 7 Life Lessons Taught by the Trail - ASIN B086V1GB1T

In this very candid book, author Debbie Wood, a mom, grandmother, avid hiker and serial entrepreneur shares her deeply personal journey from the life that was “supposed” to make her happy to the life that truly does. In a word, this book is all about “change.”

The reader learns that Debbie’s old life was marked by tragedy–her sister’s suicide, her parent’s early deaths, her husband’s abrupt abandonment, five-figure debt and a deep unhappiness with her circumstances. Then she found hiking (or hiking found her) and her life changed dramatically. The hikes Debbie undertook transformed her sense of self and her way of thinking; the trail literally became her teacher, no matter how challenging the miles became.

The First Mile is the Hardest is equal parts memoir, tell-all, self-help guide and reader journal structured as seven engaging, user-friendly Lessons.

Each Lesson begins with a Trail Tale from Debbie’s hiking life that illuminates the theme of the Lesson and corresponds to a circumstance in Debbie’s life that she very much wants to overcome. With the trail as her teacher, Debbie finds the life parallel, applies what she’s learned hiking and transforms her situation. Then, via Journal Exercises at the end of each Lesson, she invites the reader to pick up their pen and do the same. As the book progresses, the Lessons build on each other and the reader is on their own journey with Debbie out on trail just ahead, leading the way.

Each Lesson engages readers with very real stories, highly relatable life circumstances, and inspires them to begin transforming their lives immediately with the Journal Exercises at the end.

At the conclusion of The First Mile is the Hardest, Debbie shares her new life–healthy, happy, debt free, retired from her 9-5, running her own highly successful business, and leaving a legacy for her beloved children and grandchildren.

Through Debbie’s eyes, experience, wisdom, and advice, the reader realizes if Debbie can do it, they can do it too and that they are, in fact, already well on their way.
