The Algorithm Will See You Now

“I’ve been waiting for a book like this: a full-frontal assault on the dangers of artificial intelligence and the failures of our mangled health care system, all wrapped up in a clever, ripping thriller. Jennifer Lycette is an author to watch.” –Rob Hart, author of The Paradox Hotel Medical treatment determined by artificial intelligence could do more than make Hope Kestrel’s career. It could revolutionize healthcare. What the Seattle surgeon doesn’t know is the AI has a hidden fatal flaw, and the people covering it up will stop at nothing to dominate the world’s healthcare-and its profits. Soon, Hope is made the scapegoat for a patient’s death, and only Jacie Stone, a gifted intern with a knack for computer science, is willing to help search for the truth. But her patient’s death is only the tip of the conspiracy’s iceberg. The Director, Marah Maddox, is plotting a use for the AI far outside the ethical bounds of her physician’s oath. A staggering plan capable of reducing human lives to their DNA code, redefining the concepts of sickness and health, and delivering the power of life and death decisions into the hands of those behind the AI. Even if the algorithm accidentally discards some who are treatable in order to make that happen… JL Lycette’s powerful, near-future thriller, The Algorithm Will See You Now, is perfect for fans of Blake Crouch and Rob Hart.

Facing the Storm

Book 1 in the pulse-pounding Brice Bannon Seacoast Adventure series.

Brice Bannon served fifteen years in the Coast Guard, most recently as captain of the Deployable Operations Group, (DOG), the Coast Guard’s version of the Army’s Special Forces and Navy’s Seals operations. When the command was decommissioned, rather than accept re-assignment, Bannon retired from the full-time Coast Guard. But Bannon didn’t leave the Coast Guard behind completely. He remains in the Reserves.

Recruited by the Secretary of Homeland Security, he leads a small, secretive team of specially-trained, highly-skilled operatives capable of responding to and investigating specific, targeted threats against the homeland. Threats that cannot be effectively handled by standard operating means. Threats that call for a unique and often secret approach outside the normal channels of either Homeland Security or the Department of Defense.

When not risking his life for the government, Bannon runs the Keel Haul, his bar in the resort town of Hampton Beach, on the New Hampshire seacoast. There, he also operates as a small town private investigator and tends to get himself in big trouble along with the help of his two best friends and teammates; Tarakesh “Blades” Sardana and CWO Skyjack McMurphy.

Meet Megan Carney

I’ve been writing since I jotted down a story about a talking hamburger on the pages of my father’s day planner when I was six. During college, I was published as an academic and as a short story writer. Now I write technothrillers. But I’d like to think they’re not just thrillers. They’re a touch literary, because that’s how I started. A little feminist, because I apologize less these days. Very technical, because details are important. I genuinely believe well-written stories are a tool for self-reflection and improvement. We never see ourselves clearly, but sometimes we get a glimpse of ourselves in a character. Stories let us process our emotions, wrestle with hard decisions, and explore the consequences of our actions. The stories we tell ourselves matter because that is how we make and remake ourselves. Telling (and reading) meaningful stories is how we get a better understanding of experiences we haven’t lived. And that matters a lot.

Dead City

One drug saved the world. Now, the same drug threatens to destroy it. Necrophage is the drug that paused the necrotic outbreak and allowed the infected to live among us. But the “cure” the company gave the world might not have been a cure at all. Is there time to save what’s left of the world … or has the inevitable slide back into chaos already begun?

He brings a rich sense of place, strong pacing, conflict-filled dialogue, powerful twists, and a flair for high-stakes drama to every story he contributes to. He’s known for bringing out the best in whoever he collaborates with, thanks to his generosity, his adaptability, and his philosophy that “the best idea wins.” Originally from Long Beach, California, Sean now lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two children. He has more than his share of nose.

The Hawk Enigma

“A head-spinning plot, adrenaline-fueled action, and a mind-blowing premise. The Hawk Enigma is one you won’t want to miss.” – Susan Furlong author of Shattered Justice, A New York Times Top 10 Crime Novel of the Year

At the same time, across the ocean in Japan, two world-renowned scientists go missing along with the secrets behind a powerful form of artificial intelligence called the “God Algorithm.”

To Voodoo’s surprise, he soon finds himself on the front lines of an A.I. arms race with the future of freedom at stake. Will Voodoo find the scientists in time? Or will the “God Algorithm,” a piece of code so terrifying it has the potential to shift global power, fall into the wrong hands. Find out in this mind-bending, relentlessly paced techno thriller sure to please fans of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and Jack Carr’s James Reece.

Hot on the trail of Justitia, Mali and Jake use a new tool with questionable legal and ethical ramifications, not looking too closely at whether the ends justify the means. While the tool helps in unexpected ways, Justitia manages to stay one step ahead of them. Pick up your copy of Trade Wars today to find out how this hi-tech naval thriller unfolds.
What early readers are saying:
“The Texian Armada prevents a Third World War”
What a perfect second novel to Mr. Phillips’ first!  Without giving up too many spoilers; this book is even better than the first in the Texian Armada Sagas.
Trade Wars starts out with a literal bang, gunshots with a barrage of a mini-war against the tight knit group of Naval friends; finding themselves within a possible full fledged war with an Eastern country that is trying their best to start a full-on World War in order to take over all Trade Routes on the high seas.
This second novel is high in intrigue, full of even more developed characters; humor matched in the middle of tough times, and much more.  I read it in a short time; as it was hard to put down.
Imagine reading a continual battle without stopping; much like a movie.
The author has the ability to write a painted picture with words, drawing from his obvious long history of protecting our nation with his own Naval experiences.  I was duly impressed with this new novel. Bring On More!  Highly recommended read.- Rae L.

I’m proud to know that these characters are showing everyone how to be a true patriot and human being. – JR W.

Meet Brandon Phillips

Brandon dove into writing seriously in the last few years while traveling across the globe in the US Navy, and as a propulsion service technician. He has worked onboard many types of sailing vessels, in several technical roles, from tugboats to drill ships: including submarines.
Brandon’s lifelong addiction to reading spans the universes between Westerns to Space Operas. Elements from these many genres are forged together to form the base material in The Texian Armada Saga: a contemporary hi-tech thriller tale of asymmetrical naval warfare, intrigue, and adventure, based around the Gulf Coast.
He currently lives in the Houston Metro Area with his wife and two children. When he is not writing he enjoys making sawdust working on handmade pens and knives.

Nanoverse (Books 1-4)

You have been marked by the algorithm as a threat to national security.

You are under arrest.

Your peripheral nervous system is now under the jurisdiction of the United States Bureau of Prisons.

You have been charged with attempted terrorism and found guilty.

The judgment of the algorithm is final.

INCLUDED:

Algorithm (Book 1):

Nanovax was supposed to be our salvation.
Death and disease, now obsolete.
Until the terrorist attack. Fifteen cities in a single day.
Again, they said Nanovax was the answer.
The same technology meant to heal us could now be used, through an algorithm, to track us, to predict human behaviors…
To thwart future terrorists.
I’m Lieutenant Brian Goff. I received the first injection.
It healed my wounds in the war. I became the face of Nanovax…
Then, the algorithm identified me as a threat… a terrorist…
Now, I’m on the run and fighting against the very technology that once saved my life… and if that wasn’t frightening enough…
The government has my daughter.

Nanoswarm (Book 2):

The nanonetwork has been upgraded.
I can still access the nanobots…
But when I do, it leaves the host unconscious. Transferring their mind into the nanoswarm.
Dr. Archimedes Flat is expanding his nanoverse. Collecting minds to craft a new “utopia” forged from collective memory.
He believes it’s the next step in human evolution.
And if a few people have to die to make it happen, well, in his mind that’s nothing more than the survival of the fittest.
If I’m going to stop him, I’ll have to fight him in the nanoverse itself.
But Flat designed the nanoverse. He’s it’s architect. The god of his digital world.
How can I possibly defeat the maker of the nanoverse from within his own creation? After all, in the nanoverse, Flat makes all the rules.

Posthuman (Book 3):

I’m losing myself in the nanoverse…
Am I even human anymore?
So many connections… so many people…
But where am I?
The resistance has been attacked.
How can I even fight back if I can’t find myself?
I’ll have to enter the nanonetwork myself…
If I can’t set up a firewall to protect my identity…
I’ll be lost forever.

Nanowar (Book 4):

The enemy has learned how to replicate in the nanoverse.
His plan remains the same.
To usher in the next chapter of human evolution. To convert all of humanity into a digital species, inhabiting a digital world.
The government has fallen.
The resistance is in turmoil.
If I’m going to save humanity I have no choice but to destroy the nanoverse.
But can I do that without also destroying myself?

Meet Theophilus Monroe

Theophilus Monroe is a sci-fi/fantasy author with a knack for real-life characters whose supernatural experiences speak to the pangs of ordinary life. After earning his Ph.D. in Theology, he decided that academic treatises that no one will read (beyond other academics) was a dull way to spend his life. So, he began using his background in religious studies to create new worlds and forms of magic–informed by religious myths, ancient and modern–that would intrigue readers, inspire imaginations, and speak to real-world problems in fantastical ways.
