Meet A D Green

Hi, AD here,

I’m a writer of epic fantasy and I love it. It means I spend a lot of time in my head (probably too much if I’m honest) not only imagining my world but living the stories.

It’s pretty cool. I get to be everything; good and evil and all those fuzzy grey in-betweens, I cast magic, die heroically, plan epic battles, mess with and experience every emotion you can imagine. Get to be moral and immoral, do stupid things for the right reason and succeed when doing the wrong thing but hey, sometimes life is like that. Right?

Oh, and I get to make up new religions, races, people and magic systems that feel natural. I map build, create a history, plant a few hidden eggs along the way and plot the inevitable twist no one saw coming.

But apart from that – it is a grind….a b&llache of teeth grinding, rehashing, reviewing, rewriting, timelining and continuity checking. I love it all.
I hope that you will try my work and even more that you enjoy it. I would love for you to leave this mundane world behind for a few hours and visit mine.

You can find me on my website (yeah dude/dudess – I have a frikin website!). You can also find me on twitter @adgreenauthor and something similar on Facebook or whatever it is called now.

The Cockroach King

The Cockroach King is the third book in the Sorry and Morticum trilogy. While on the moon colony, Sorry receives an urgent call for help from the earth. Their atmosphere is failing, and Sorry is infuriated that he has spent so much of his life trying to save that planet. Young wizard Soriguard believes an atmospherologist who lives in the mind gardens can help. The crew grows more and more curious as to the present state of the dying planet they left six years ago and decide to help. When they return, their spaceship is shot at and they make an emergency landing with the aid of the giant cockroaches, Spinks and Gronk. They quickly realize that the dying atmosphere is not the greatest of their problems. The world has regressed to a form of behavior abolished six hundred years before, and they have long since forgotten how to hold a proper war. Still, it will take the greatest insights of both Sorry and the Cockroach King, and Soriguard remembering something he learned on the moon to solve this problem.

Meet Charles Stoll

Charles Stoll was born on Long Island in 1956. In High School he won the N.C.T.E. (National Council of Teachers of English) Award in Writing. He attended Syracuse University where a favorite professor challenged him to write a book. Forty years later, he accomplished that goal and hasn’t stopped writing since. Mind Gardens earned him “Distinguished Favorite in the 2020 Independent Press Awards. His novels include the sci-fi trilogy: Sorry and Morticum, Mind Gardens, and The Cockroach King. His other works include Drunken Angel, The Time Thief, and Enigma. “I write the types of books I have enjoyed reading, books that challenge me as they entertain me, ones that make me look at things I thought I knew and suddenly see from a new perspective. I like characters that are defined not by their clothing, but by their thoughts and ideas. And the books that I love the most are the ones that find the balance in life.”

Shadow Rising

From dreams she sees it. While awake she feels it. They’re coming. Time is running out. Meet Elskidor Xell

I was born in Texas as a menacing middle child with a strange imagination that I still don’t understand, but following it, led me to become the writer I am today. In my youth, I adventured with my little brother to places unknown. Sometimes we would go into the forest for miles trying to find a mysterious crystal to save the world from the demons waiting to get him, or finding a hidden enigma in the woods who fed us cookies like “Hansel and Gretel”. At the age of twelve, my family and I moved from Texas to Tennessee where, initially, I had a difficult time adjusting to life and meeting new friends. I spent a significant amount of time enjoying various fantasy shows on TV as any other kid would, ranging from Highlander to Sliders to X Men -The Animated Series, or movies such as Watership Down, The Dark Crystal or The Last Unicorn. I was drawn to read books including The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, or The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, anything with a hint of fantasy always piqued my interest. When I wasn’t watching TV, playing RPGs like Breath of Fire, Earthbound, Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger turned the wheels of my creativity, eventually leading me to write thousands of pages of fan-fiction devoted to the characters I cherished. My passion to create fantastical tales was inspired by the loss of my best friend, and cat, Uno. I always created stories for my friends and me to play out, but through his loss, I finally put this on paper. Since then, I found a fervor in creating stories and enchanted worlds and bending reality that continues to enthrall me; it is what drives me. Through my writing, I can experience things I adore. One day I am fighting through stress, and the next I am witnessing life through my characters and their much more entertaining world. I never know what will happen until it does, and I get to experience that adventure along with my readers.

Defiled

Where do you go after you’ve lost everything? Waking up in a world far removed from the life stolen from the seventeen-year-old girls, Luminear and Bella no longer recognize the difference between friend and foe. On the backdrop of Lonewolf and Icaz concluding their long-awaited quest, the sisters struggle to survive in a cruel world. With her mind warped and defiled, Bella’s journey to uncover her memories comes at a merciless price, while Luminear now serves malevolence, working to aid and complete her master’s goal. As one quest concludes, another one begins in the form of terror, and unexpected eyes from afar discover the vital importance Luminear and Bella share. Defiled is Volume 3 in The Lady of the Water Series and will be free to Amazon Kindle readers beginning December 10 through December 14, 2021.

Meet J.R.Kearney

I have worked in retail for over twenty years. That’s bad. But I’ve also been writing the Sword Empire Series for fifteen of those years. That’s good. Living in Sydney, Australia for all my life, I began writing the series in 2005 as a series of short stories for my autistic nephew, set in the fictional world of Heldorn, that soon grew into ‘The Sword Empire’ series of today. A lover of music, anything from a Van Halen guitar solo to a Disney showtune, I’m also a big advocate for exercise while also lounging about playing the latest RPG. But mostly books are my passion, growing up watching a lot of bad movies to know what a good story should look like. Regardless of fame or fortune I will write this series purely out of enjoyment, I hope you can enjoy them too.

Meet Douglas R. Brown

Douglas R. Brown runs into burning buildings for a living.
As a career firefighter in Columbus, Ohio, he rediscovered his love of writing as a cathartic way of dealing with the daily horrors of seeing people die.
After having four books published by a publishing company who ultimately closed their doors, he has since ventured out on his own.
And if risking his life, occasional soul-crushing book reviews, and being the father of a teen-aged boy isn’t enough of a beating, he’s also been learning jiujitsu for a few years. What the Hell is wrong with him? (The answer is probably Freudian of some kind.)
BTW, did he mention he’s been married since 1996. So, yeah, he’s pretty busy.
